Poppy

‍⬛ Poppy is an 18 year young sweetheart who is looking for her forever home
Reason for rehoming: Poppy was sadly left behind (with another cat) when her previous owners moved.
Poppy would prefer a quieter home, adult only home. After 18 years with her previous owner, she is no doubt feeling disheartened by being left behind. She loves her foster mum and often grooms her, which is super cute. But when Poppy gets overwhelmed, will give a warning nip. Adopters must be prepared to let Poppy settle, and to go at her pace, without having any expectations around affection. She is a darling cat, but she needs to build trust first. Poppy has come a long way since coming into foster and is super affectionate. She just needs a respectful adopter who will let her build up confidence together ❤️
️ Poppy would very happily be an indoor cat, should adopters provide suitable enrichment. She would also be ok as an indoor/outdoor cat, with a little garden to sun bath in.
Poppy lived with a cat in her previous home. She could live with a single, laid back cat, if there was enough space, etc, but would be very happy as an only cat. She has kept her distance from the resident cat in her foster home.
❌ We are unable to dog test her. Although her reaction to dogs when at the visits would suggest this is a non-starter, so we would strongly advise no dogs.
Poppy has had the following vet treatment while under our care (we will happily share her veterinary history with her adopter’s vet);
Full Blood Test – all ok
Urine Test – which *only* showed a UTI, which has been treated under the care of the vet with antibiotics & has been retested and the UTI has cleared.
Poppy was already microchipped
Poppy has been flea & worm treated
* Please note that we have not re-vaccinated Poppy. At 18 years old, she would have sufficient natural immunity. If the adopter wishes to vaccinate her, we are more than happy to cover these costs if the vaccinations are done at our vet in Romford, or at a EasiPetCare local to the adopter.
Health conditions:
Poppy has arthritis in her lower back. We have started her on Green Lipped Mussel supplement to see if this would help her. This costs £16 for approximately 6 month worth. The brand is Aniforte, and it can be bought from Amazon.
Otherwise she has no known health conditions – with a full blood and urine test completed to confirm this. Poppy could be insured if her adopter wanted to.
️ We ask that adopters are willing to feed her a fresh, species appropriate diet. She is currently eating KatKin while under our care. Other options include tins of Bozita wet food, a raw diet, etc.
She is in a foster home in Romford, Essex. Adopters must be willing to travel to meet Poppy in her foster home.
ℹ️ Homecheck and £99 adoption donation applies. Please contact us for the application to adopt form.
